Riders of all ages can experience the landscapes of Okefenokee and private forest reserves from horseback. All of the trail riding horses are trained and have been selected for their pleasant disposition, smooth gaits, and surefootedness on the areas trails.

Horse yoga is the latest trend in the wellness space! This practice that addresses the specific postures and movements of the horseback rider’s body. It focuses on balance, flexibility, core strength, lower back, shoulders, and hips. Ashley Carter-Gowen is a certified, yoga instructor combines her deep knowledge of horses and leadership training with her practice. Upon special request (and subject to availability), she will tailor small group sessions for leadership teams or personal enrichment.

Seasonally and by request, Newell Lodge offers special horse events for children ages 12 and under. Your little cowboy or cowgirl will enjoy riding lessons, trail rides, a summer horse camp, and hands-on activities with the horses.
