Come celebrate with us the 25th Anniversary of the Folkston Funnel Platform during Spring Rail Watch 2026!!

Join us for a fun-filled day of rail watching, community, and springtime tradition in Folkston. At this year's Rail Watch, we will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Folkston Funnel Viewing Platform.

For 25 years, the Folkston Funnel Platform has been a gathering spot where generations have shared stories, watched countless trains roll by, and built lasting memories. The Funnel is more than just a place to watch trains — it’s the heart of Folkston’s rail heritage. This special anniversary makes Rail Watch even more meaningful, and we’re excited to celebrate it with you!

To mark this special occasion, the City of Folkston will welcome several guest speakers to share a few words about the legacy of the Folkston Funnel. We encourage the entire Folkston community to come out and show their support. The brief presentation will begin at 10:00 AM at the Folkston Funnel Platform.

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 130 will be offering delicious and reasonably priced pancake breakfast platters throughout the morning. Auxiliary members will also be walking around selling water, hot cocoa, coffee, and sausage biscuits to make sure no one starts off the day hungry or thirsty!

Pancake breakfast presale ticket sales have officially begun and will continue through April 8th.

Ticket Price: $5 per plate
Cash only

You can purchase presale tickets at the following locations:

- The Chamber of Commerce office (train depot)

- Whistlin Dixie Café

- Folkston City Hall

Pancake breakfast plates will also be available for purchase the morning of the event.

All proceeds go directly to support the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 130.

Breakfast Prices:

Drinks: $1.oo each

Sausage biscuits: $2.00 each

Full pancake breakfast: $5.00 each

2026 Miss Okefenokee Pageant (September 19, 2026)

Celebrating over 50 years of pageantry in Folkston, GA, the Miss Okefenokee Beauty Pageant is a local legend. This beloved hometown tradition is open to girls from birth to 21 years old and is dedicated to promoting a positive, uplifting pageantry experience for all participants.

Whether you're a first-time contestant or a seasoned pageant pro, this is your moment to shine. The stage is set for you to showcase your confidence, grace, and community pride.

Registration Deadlines: TBA

Location restrictions apply only to the Miss division (ages 17–21). All other age groups are open to participants regardless of residence.

Admission: TBA

Contestants must arrive dressed and ready 30 minutes before their division’s scheduled time.
