OKEFENOKEE NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE

As the main entrance to the Okefenokee Swamp and the largest National Wildlife Refuge East of the Mississippi, the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge is the home to many threatened and endangered species, such as the red-cockaded woodpecker, wood storks, indigo snakes, and a wide variety of other wildlife species. The Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge’s main priority is conserving the unique qualities of the Okefenokee Swamp for future generations to enjoy.
